Dinkes: Covid-19 in Jakarta is Very Under Control

The Jakarta Health Agency (Dinkes) has announced that Jakarta's Covid-19 situation is under control and that it is unlikely to see a surge in infections.

Based on the data, there have been 540 positive cases in the last week or an average of 70 new positive cases per day.

As for the deaths of four cases in the last week, all were aged 50 and over and had not received the 4th dose of vaccination.

Epidemiological Surveillance and Immunization Division Head, Ngabila Salama expressed the current bed occupancy rate (BOR) of patients is only five percent, namely 94 cases of hospitalization out of a total of 1,966 beds prepared.

"While eight percent of the ICU, 34 cases of hospitalization out of a total of 405 beds are prepared," she expressed, Tuesday (6/13).

She said that currently the isolation regulations for positive Covid-19 patients are still 10 days without PCR and five days if PCR is negative. He provided input to stakeholders so that positive patients with Covid-19 did not need isolation anymore, but were required to wear masks.

If it is difficult to monitor, an independent isolation policy can be made only for as long as you have symptoms or only three to five days of isolation.

"Incubation is the time it takes from the virus entering the body until the first day of symptoms appears. Seeing now, the incubation of Covid-19, 1-3 days and 3-5 days from symptomatic has been cured," she explained.

He added it is still best to prevent getting sick by wearing a mask if you meet someone who is sick.

"Also, prevent complications or death by controlling comorbidities with regular medication and complete vaccination four times for ages 18 and over while available, free, useful," she uttered.
